Should I Bring My Portfolio In My Handbag Or In The Suitcase?

I am from Canada and travelling to Italy this summer. I will be looking for a ESL teaching job once I get settled there. I previously took an ESL course and I am bringing my portfolio with me with all my lesson plans, certificate, disks, cassette recording for listening skills and so on. Do you think it is a good idea for me to put my portfolio in my handbag or in my luggage? Would you happen to know if at the airport they would give me any problems?

A soft sided brief case looks professional & can double as a purse / carry on bag. NEVER put anything in checked baggage that you can not afford to be without during your trip. My brief case bag never caused a problem. They can X-ray, but if they want to look, it opens up quite well with expansion that they can easily look into quickly & you waste less time with security.

Bring it on board with you. It would be awful if you lost it, so you should keep it with you.

That is like the source of life for you. I would carry it with me if I were you
